Kip Marina’s 620 berths enjoy a naturally sheltered location at Inverkip on the southern shores of the Firth of Clyde only 30 minutes west of Glasgow and offers unrivalled access to some of the world’s finest sailing waters with all the full-service facilities on site that you would expect from Scotland’s premier marina and the home of Scotland’s Boat Show.

Open 365 days a year and with 24 hours tidal access, Kip has some of the widest on-water manoeuvring spaces between pontoons and on our access channels in the whole of Scotland, making it the ideal marina for sailors of all levels of experience and for all types of boats – from small dayboats to large sailing yachts and power craft up to 24m with a maximum draft of 3.5 metres.
Our fully serviced pontoons including the visitor pontoons, offer power & water and our complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi ensures you can check emails or watch Netflix on board.
On shore facilities include contemporary washroom & shower facilities with a launderette, The Chartroom Restaurant and Bar, Cafe Riva, Michael Schmidt & Partner New and Brokerage boat sales office, yacht and power boat charters and, for those looking to increase their sailing knowledge, two of the West Coast’s top sail and power training companies.
We offer a wide range of berthing and storage packages which can be tailored to your requirements and with our 50 ton hoist, 30 ton crane, and 9 ton boat transporters your boat can be afloat or on shore depending on your requirements.
At Kip Marina we take security very seriously so that our customers can relax in the knowledge their boat is in good hands. 24-hour security, CCTV coverage and electronic gate access, all add up to a safe and secure place to keep your vessel.

Scotland’s largest multi-level Chandlery and Outdoor Clothing Store can be found at Kip, with a stock range of everything you could ever need for your boat – from ropes and shackles to anti fouling and fenders or even a new cooker or tender. We operate a click & collect service via email for advance orders and our expert staff can usually source any part or fitting for your vessel.
On our upper level, you will find the latest in sailing and fashion clothing from major brands like Musto, Helley Hansen, Pelle P and Dubarry plus the ever popular ‘Sale Rail’ that entices visitors to grab a bargain.
Our onsite specialists and contractors cover all aspects of marine work including engineers both marine and electrical, riggers, GRP repairs, boat builders, sail makers, painting and valeting. We can also enlist further companies to assist in your repairs or projects from our sister marina at Fairlie Quay. Our experienced and friendly staff can offer advice and suggestions so feel free to contact them for an informal chat.
The marina site is located alongside the A78 which gives direct access onto the main motorway system, we are approximately 30 minutes from Glasgow International Airport and 45 minutes from Prestwick Airport. There is also a direct rail link from Inverkip to Glasgow central station approx. 40 minutes.
Access by sea is very straight forward with the marina fairway marked by buoys and flashing green lead mark.
All visiting yachts can pre book berths by calling on VHF Channel 80 or by phone to 01475 521485. Inverkip village can provide all the visiting yachtsmen’s immediate needs with a local Sainsbury supermarket, doctor, dentist, pharmacy etc.
Cruising from Kip gives you easy access to the beauty of the Firth of Clyde whether it is a weekend away to the Kyles of Bute, Rothesay or the Isle of Arran or a longer holiday cruising around the Kintyre peninsula to Campbeltown and up into Loch Fyne with locations such as Tarbert to explore. The sheltered waters of the sea lochs provide a fantastic sailing experience where you will be able to view the areas wildlife, natural beauty and flora. A fortnights cruising will take you south round the Mull of Kintyre where you can head for the Irish coast or north towards Gigha, Islay, Jura or Oban. When you are ready to head south you don’t have to re trace your steps as the ever-popular Crinan Canal is available to you allowing a peaceful return the Clyde.
